Joe D. Briggs, public policy counsel for the NFL Players Association, was recently named Sports, Entertainment & Arts Lawyer of the Year by the National Bar Association, the oldest and largest association of African American lawyers and judges. He was also one of the inaugural recipients of Florida A&M’s Young Alumni “40 under 40” award.
Briggs is on the faculty of Georgetown University’s Sports Industry Management program and enjoys teaching the Applied Ethics in Sports course. In his free time, he is a special assistant to the president of the National Bar Association and a co-founder of IMPACT, an organization focused on enhancing economic empowerment opportunities for emerging leaders.
