In this course, we will examine century global trade in and around the 13th century from an interdisciplinary approach, using economic and cultural evidence. The material lends itself to analysis from many fields, including business history, international affairs, Muslim-Christian relations, medieval European studies, and public policy. Informed contributions from each of these perspectives are welcome.
