Course Description:
This course is a survey of financial management topics in the corporate setting. The four broad areas to be covered are:
- Time value of money
- Investing
- Long-term investment decisions
- Long-term financing decisions
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, successful students will be able to:
- Describe the principles of financial decision-making such as the Time Value of Money and Net Present Value.
- Discuss the basic tools of financial management such as diversification and risk management.
- Calculate Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, Discounted Cash flows, Return on Investment and other common financial metrics.
Course Prerequisites:
Business Accounting (XCPD-033) or equivalent academic coursework in accounting.
