Course Description:
Many of us never speak aloud in groups of more than two people. If you are one of those who choose to remain silent, you are not alone. Speaking in public is the number one fear. Many of us are held back in career or social situations because our fear limits our self-expression. We become invisible to those around us. If you would rather die than speak in public, this class is for you. We will examine the sources and role of fear in public speaking and how to work with it. Work will include practical exercises and speaking assignments designed to increase your confidence and build your skills as a speaker. We will focus on extensive preparation and on managing nerves, voice and body movement during speaking. If you would like to learn how to face the fear so you can make a speech or a business presentation, this class is for you.
