Course Description:
Most organizational leaders talk about diversity as if they were truly committed to it. However, the reality is that so many of them simply do not have the skills and competencies to be able to link diversity and leadership. This course helps participants understand how to ensure that their leaders and others are demonstrating their commitment to diversity. Among the topics:
- Assessing one’s own commitment to diversity
- Developing the courage to lead on diversity
- Encouraging listening, enhancing teamwork and getting the most from people’s diverse backgrounds
- Discovering your own hidden biases and how they contradict one’s stated commitment to diversity
- Providing challenging, productive feedback
- Challenging your colleagues to lead on diversity
- Helping your organization demonstrate its commitment to diversity in substantive and sustainable ways
