Course Description:
Managing interpersonal and intergroup conflict is a critical leadership challenge. Frameworks to understand the sources and dynamics of simple and multilevel conflict, including trust and distrust dynamics, will be the focus of this course. The course will focus on interpersonal and organizational strategies for managing intergroup conflict including negotiations, mediation, and arbitration. During the course you will be asked to read about a process, engage in some form of that process (i.e mock mediation, arbitration or negotiation), consider the advantages and disadvantage of that process and discuss the policy implications of that process.
