The legal industry is a stimulating work environment with rich and varied opportunities to learn and grow. It is a business with its own language, systems, demands and methodologies. A general education on the business of law, will prepare the student to meet the challenges of understanding and succeeding in this unique business world. This series of seminars studies of the principles of law office administration and career development, including: organizational structure, law office personnel, equipment, timekeeping, bookkeeping and accounting practices, indexing and filing, calendar and monitor systems, library and research systems, the office manual, resume and interview skills development, and targeting the legal marketplace. The topics covered in this course also include resume writing, interview training, a panel on law office administration, and advanced Lexis and Westlaw research training.
