Course Description:
Where will the next big idea come from? Leaders are consistently tasked with coming up with the next great product or system. Innovation is often compromised by the twin pressures of time and financial constraint. Given these limitations, how can team leaders encourage productive creativity and successful implementation of new strategies? This course will uncover methods for successful collaboration from idea through implementation.
Weekend 1 – Topic: Design Thinking (9 hrs)
During the first day of the course, participants will review the habits of mind associated with design thinking. Taking the mystery out of new idea generation, participants will come away with strategies to maximize collaboration for idea generation
Weekend 2 – Topic: Strategy Implementation (9 hrs)
Day two, participants will use case studies to review and identify successful strategies for project implementation. Participants will look at why some seemingly great ideas fail and what makes other implementation strategies successful.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, successful students will be able to:
- Plan inclusive brainstorming sessions.
- Critique an existing strategy model.
- Outline significant elements of a project implementation plan.
