Course Description:
Viral marketing is now a critical component of marketing strategies. With the increasing popularity of social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) and expansion of online marketing tools, there are infinite marketing channels. Competition provides consumers more choices than ever before. Traditional marketing tactics and mainstream media are no longer sufficient to reach and build lasting relationships with customers and influencers.
Originally popular with startups and nonprofits looking for creative strategies to drive word-of-mouth on a limited budget, viral marketing is experiencing explosive growth as corporations, non-profit organizations, and governments seek memorable and effective methods to generate attention and grow new market segments. This course explores strategic and tactical methods for leveraging guerrilla marketing and how to position brands to gain a strong foothold in niche markets.
Objectives:
- Analyze effective viral, buzz, and guerilla marketing strategies
- Discuss how to leverage social media and online marketing tools to reach new and niche markets
- Examine how to tap into segmented markets and gain brand leadership in niche markets
- Explore case studies about organizations using viral marketing tactics and strategies to increase visibility and out-market competitors
- Develop a viral marketing strategy and incorporate guerilla marketing tactics into existing marketing plans
Designed For:
Marketing managers, communications managers, and social media professionals.
