Information Technology Program Management

Course Description:
For optimum performance and competitive advantages, today's organizations need to identify, plan, and deliver information technology (IT) solutions that support business processes. It is the role of the project manager to determine customer requirements, set goals tied directly to stakeholder needs, get the most from the project management team, and utilize project management tools to accomplish the work on time, within budget, and to performance specifications. The course addresses the role of the project manager and project team throughout the project life cycle by extending traditional project management concepts to IT projects. Participants will gain an understanding of the strategies and skills necessary to manage each stage of the project including critical success factors and hidden risks inherent in IT projects. Specific areas included in: IT development and delivery processes, stakeholder management, enterprise architecture and information assurance, quality management, and performance measurement. Cases discussed will be drawn from the full scope of IT projects.
