Building an Effective Business Foundation: Corporate Financial Strategy

Course Description:
The ability to meet or exceed financial targets is a core competency for executive leaders. This course is specifically designed for business managers seeking a stronger foundation in financial management and investor relations.

This course comprises two primary goals. This course allows you to gain critical confidence in financial management and the ability to tie fiscal leadership to strategic goals. In addition, this course teaches you to work more effectively with managers and executives in the chief financial officer (CFO) areas of your organization.

The first day offers critical insight into the work of the CFO. You will review core areas required to make strategic financial decisions including:

a. Internal controls and risk management
b. Basic terms of investment management such as ROI and NPV
c. Raising funding and financial structures
d. Mergers & acquisitions
e. Investor relations

The second day consists of two sections. The first section is a scenario analysis in which you must make strategic financial decisions for a specific scenario such as a merger or acquisition. The second section revolves around discussion and self-assessment in the area of financial management. Case studies are a key teaching methodology.
