Employee Relations in Comparative Context

Course Description:

This course provides students with a thorough grounding in the effect of globalization on employment relations by using comparative analysis to identify and understand the complexity and nuance as well as the multiple factors that are responsible for the similarities and difference in national patterns of employee relations. The course will use a series of case studies to help students an understanding of the nature of employee relations patterns in developed and developing market economies thus providing students with the tools and skills to compare a range of developments across these countries and how theses developments effect global employee relations. Students will also be expected to reflect critically on employee relations in developing countries and market economies.
