Associate Dean Christopher Metzler, PhD, discusses topics from his book as part of the spring Equity & Diversity Series
Christopher Metzler, PhD, associate dean of the Master of Professional Studies in Human Resources Management program, discussed topics from his book, “The Construction and Rearticulation of Race in a Post-Racial America,” as part of the spring Equity & Diversity Series sponsored by the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Affirmative Action (IDEAA).
After a brief introduction, Metzler opened the discussion to audience members and answered questions on a range of topics, including his views on the NAACP, issues concerning the Supreme Court’s Ricci case, the profitability of perpetuating black stereotypes, and President Obama’s decision to boycott the UN Racism Conference. Metzler is a global scholar and thought leader in the areas of human rights, civil rights, critical race theory, corporate social responsibility, diversity, equity, and human resources. He is a frequently sought after cultural critic and commentator and has appeared as an analyst on The BBC News, Sky News, News Channel 8,BBC Arabic, Channel 7 News The Joe Madison Show, 1290 Radio, ABC News and others.
