Diane Tomb
Diane is a seasoned and experienced leader with over twenty years of experience in the strategic communications & public affairs arena. She focuses on helping clients achieve their goals through a range of public affairs services that inform policy decisions and the regulatory process, build strong market reputations, and address complex business challenges. Tomb & Associates, LLC was founded by Diane Tomb, who was instilled with an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age.
The firm was started in January, 2004 and specializes in strategic communications and public affairs. She is responsible for the overall management of the organization and day-to-day client management on a wide range of issues. Clients include corporate, trade associations, non-profit and governments. Prior to founding her company, Tomb was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate and served as the Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for Public Affairs from 2001-2004.
Prior to this presidential appointment, Tomb was the Senior Vice President for Communications at the Fannie Mae Foundation. In that role she was a member of the operating committee and oversaw outreach efforts in research, education and grant-making. Earlier in her career, Tomb was a vice president of public affairs at Burson-Marsteller worldwide public relations firm. She has served in senior positions on presidential and gubernatorial campaigns and on the White House staff from 1986-1992. In addition to serving as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University, she is a member of the Board of Trustee’s at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD. She is a co-founder of Executive Strategies Council (ESC), a business networking advisory organization and active in fundraising efforts for Meridian House International, Hope Street Kids Foundation and Starlight-Starbright Foundation. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history from Mount Saint Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. She is married and resides in Virginia with her husband and three children.
