Rohit Bhargava

Rohit is a founding member of the pioneering 360 Digital Influence team at Ogilvy, a group focused on developing social media and word of mouth marketing strategy and campaigns for clients including Intel, Unilever, Lenovo, Ford, CDC, Lance Armstrong Foundation and many others. He is author of the award winning new marketing book Personality Not Included, an entertaining and useful guide to using your personality in marketing, which is available in more than 50 countries around the world in 6 languages.

For four years, he has published the Influential Marketing blog, which is currently ranked among the top 50 marketing blogs in the world and was called "intellectual and educational" by the Wall Street Journal. He is widely recognized across the marketing industry (and on Wikipedia) for inventing the concept of Social Media Optimization (SMO) on his blog, and has been featured as an expert in global media including BusinessWeek, MarketingChina, PR Week UK, Fast Company, BusinessWorld, Le Figaro and many other publications.

Rohit is a frequent industry speaker at at events around the world with recent keynote appearances in Singapore, London, Kiev, Toronto, Paris and more than dozen cities across the US in the past year. Prior to joining Ogilvy in DC, Rohit led the interactive team at Leo Burnett Advertising Agency in Sydney, Australia where he lived for 5 years. He holds dual citizenship with Australia and the US. He currently lives in Washington DC with his wife and two young sons, Rohan and Jaiden.
