Allison Barber
Allison is the president of her own strategic communication firm in the Washington, DC area. She works with clients to create strategic approaches, identifying the best tactics to reach specific audiences. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, teaching in the Master’s program for Public Relations and Corporate Communications. Prior to running her own business, Allison spent over 7 years at the Department of Defense. She was the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Internal Communications and Public Liaison. Jeff Bieber is Vice President for National Programming at WETA. Jeff Bieber is a veteran executive producer of public television documentaries, specials, news and cultural programs at WETA, the public broadcasting station for the Greater Washington area. He is responsible for creating and managing major primetime series for PBS, including America at a Crossroads, a series of 20 documentaries about the Iraq War, Terrorism and America’s response to 9/11 and winner of 2008 EMMY and Columbia-DuPont awards; The Mysterious Human Heart, winner of a 2008 EMMY award; The Jewish Americans, a six-hour series that aired in January 2007; Washington Week with Gwen Ifill and National Journal, winner of a 2008 Peabody Award; and numerous other documentaries, specials and weekly series.
