Career Services

The Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies is committed to providing alumni of degree programs with the resources needed for successful career management, including providing help with new job searches and other career transitions such as promotions, switching to new industries and, of course, networking.

Alumni Career Services

Alumni Career Services’ mission is to provide alumni of degree programs with lifelong career development and networking opportunities. The Alumni Career Network database connects to more than 18,000 alumni volunteers throughout the world. The volunteers provide advice on careers and industry trends within their areas of expertise.

The Career Education Center

The Career Education Center teaches students and alumni of degree programs how to identify career opportunities that best suit their individual strengths and interests, and equips them with resources for lifelong career management as confident, self-reliant professionals.

Alumni of degree programs, up to three years after graduation, may receive:

  • Up to three 50-minute sessions with a career counselor.
  • A mock interview session (which can be videotaped).
  • Assessments to determine values, interests, personality and skills (nominal fees may apply to cover the cost of assessment supplies).
  • Up to three 30-minute sessions with an employment adviser.
  • Information about annual career fairs.
  • Walk-in appointments (15 minutes) on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Access to view and apply for alumni postings through the Hoya Career Connection system.
  • Workshops and events offered by staff, alumni and professionals throughout the year.
  • Print resources, tools and links in the Career Resource Library.
