Paralegal Studies Program

Quality Education
The Georgetown Paralegal Studies Program was established in 1973 and the American Bar Association has continuously approved the Program since 1977. The program is widely known and respected by the legal community. In fact, we are members of the American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE, the International Paralegal Manager's Association (IPMA), the National Capital Area Paralegal Association (NCAPA), and the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA).

Focused Skills
In the fast-growing paralegal field, our students are given the tools necessary to provide value and efficiency to all industries. For over 35 years, our program has produced educated paralegals who are leaders in the profession. Graduates of the program work with lawyers and judges in prestigious legal settings all over the country, in the nation's largest law firms, in Cabinet-level government departments, in non-profits and legal aid societies, in major private corporations, and in many other settings. In addition, many of our students use the skills and knowledge from our program to further their success in law school.

Essential Knowledge
The courses are academically challenging, provide a critical understanding of the law, and adapt to the changing needs of the legal community. Our program's curriculum is developed and taught by faculty members who are distinguished legal professionals with careers that include service as experienced paralegals, counsel to a congressional committee, law clerks, assistant United States attorneys, and major law firm partners.
