Georgetown University CCPE Announces Georgetown Law CLE Offers
Litigation Technology and Legal Project Management Students
Discounts to Upcoming eDiscovery Events
Events include eDiscovery Practice Support Conference and Advanced eDiscovery Institute
ARLINGTON, VA – Today, the Georgetown University Center for Continuing and Professional Education (“CCPE”) announces that Georgetown Law CLE will offer discounts to Georgetown University CCPE Litigation Technology and Legal Project Management students and alumni to attend upcoming eDiscovery events.
The Georgetown Law CLE discounts offered to Georgetown University CCPE Litigation Technology and Legal Project Management students include free registration to the eDiscovery Practice Support: Learning the Skills to Move Ahead conference on November 4, 2011 and discounted registration to The 8th Annual Advanced eDiscovery Institute held November 17 – 18, 2011.
“Georgetown University CCPE is honored that Georgetown Law CLE is providing our Litigation Technology and Legal Project Management students and alumni access to world-class, advanced and innovative training in eDiscovery from industry leaders,” said Edwin Schmierer, Associate Dean of the Georgetown University Center for Continuing and Professional Education
“Since 1973, through our offering of the only ABA-approved Paralegal Studies Program in Washington, D.C., Georgetown University CCPE has committed to providing students with the quality legal education, focused skills, and essential knowledge they need to be leaders in a highly competitive, professional marketplace,” he continued. “This partnership with Georgetown Law CLE highlights our dedication to legal professionals, and extends our impact into the eDiscovery and litigation support fields.”
For the eDiscovery Practice Support: Learning the Skills to Move Ahead conference on November 4, 2011, Georgetown Law CLE will offer free registration to Georgetown University CCPE students and alumni of the Certificate in Litigation Technology and Legal Project Management, and students and alumni of the Georgetown University Paralegal Studies Program Litigation Technology and Legal Project Management track. This conference is geared specifically to practice support professionals, and was designed and planned by practice support professionals for their peers. This program is also the first program of its kind crafted along career development paths, to help attendees acquire both the knowledge and skills needed for success by following the Technical Analyst, Project Manager, or eDiscovery Department Leader tracks. Attendees may also decide to move from track-to-track to gain a more wide-ranging education, and design their own personal learning experience. Chief Magistrate Judge Paul Grimm of the U.S. District Court of Maryland, a leading eDiscovery judge in the United States, will provide advice during the program, and attendees will obtain the top lessons from all three tracks in report-back plenary sessions at mid-day.
For the The 8th Annual Advanced eDiscovery Institute held November 17 – 18, 2011, Georgetown Law CLE will extend the “Georgetown Alumnus Registration” fee to these same Georgetown University CCPE Litigation Technology and Legal Project Management students and alumni. This Institute offers attendees an opportunity to focus on the pressing issues of today’s legal climate with professionals from across the country, and to receive advice from the leading experts in the eDiscovery field, including more judicial speakers than any other eDiscovery CLE program.
Georgetown University CCPE’s Certificate in Litigation Technology and Legal Project Management is comprised of three open enrollment comprehensive courses in Advanced Litigation and Trial Technology, eDiscovery, and Legal Project Management. Students who are admitted to the Georgetown University Paralegal Studies Program can elect to follow the Litigation Technology and Legal Project Management track in their third semester by taking the same courses listed above. Both programs prepare students and legal professionals to enter or expand into the litigation support field with an applied skills and knowledge experience.
