Application for Admission
Admission to any of the high school programs offered by Georgetown University is on a rolling basis. Applications are reviewed as they are received and admissions decisions are made immediately. As enrollment is limited, it is critical to submit applications early.

Each application must have the following:

  • A completed Application for Admission Form
  • One letter of recommendation from a teacher, school administrator, or guidance counselor
  • An official high school transcript
  • One 300-word essay
  • An application fee in the amount of $50 made payable to Georgetown University

International Students
Non-native speakers of English must send in their TOEFL scores. The University requires a score of 550 or above on the written examination or a score of at least 213 on the computer-based examination. Please use institution code number 5986. Georgetown also accepts CELT, ALUGU, or other standardized tests for the purpose of certifying English language capability.

Please take careful note of the following:

  • All Summer College F-1 visa holders must maintain a minimum of six credits.
  • All immigration-related documents must be complete 4 weeks prior to the program start date.  If documents are submitted after this time, we cannot guarantee that an international student will be able to participate in our summer programs.
  • The 8-day workshops and Fundamentals of Business are not eligible for I-20 issuance.

International students will receive additional information upon admission and can contact Georgetown University's Office of International Programs at 202-687-5867 for any immigration-related questions.

Academic Life and Resources
Georgetown University is serious about the success of our summer students. To ensure that success, students have access to numerous campus resources, including the Joseph Mark Lauinger Memorial Library, the Language Learning Technology Center, University Information Services, athletic facilities at the Yates Field House, and the MBNA Career Education Center. The Academic Resource Center provides accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Residential Life
Residential life is as much a part of the college experience as actual coursework, and at Georgetown, it's an exciting lifestyle filled with opportunities. Special floors are set-aside for high school summer program residents, and each double room is Ethernet-wired.

You'll make lifelong friends and important connections through a variety of events and activities. Mix and mingle at ethnic dinners, ice cream socials, and pizza parties. Play tennis and soccer or go for a swim. Get crazy at "Talent Night." And anywhere and everywhere, hang out and have fun with people who share your dreams.

Commuters
Students participating in Summer College, Fundamentals of Business, or the College Preparatory Program have the option of commuting to campus.  8-day workshop students are required to live on campus.  Commuters are encouraged to participate in the full range of summer events, from movie nights and social activities to debates and residence hall seminars.

Meal Plans
Stick with the meal plan and have dinner in the brand new cafeteria. Or go for something quick at the student union food court. Or take a short walk to dozens of chic eateries, ethnic restaurants, and familiar dining in the Georgetown neighborhood. From vegetarian fare to burgers and ribs, you'll find exactly you're looking for within walking distance from campus.
