George Perry
George Perry is currently the Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales for the Washington Freedom (WPS). George is also the founder and President of GP4 Consulting, a strategic partnership marketing consulting firm working with corporate sponsors, sports and entertainment properties and events to identify, evaluate, negotiate and activate Great Marketing Partnerships.
Previously, as Vice President of Strategic Marketing for the Washington Redskins, George was responsible for developing and managing the implementation of revenue generating strategic marketing programs for current and prospective Washington Redskins partners.
Prior to joining the Redskins, George was charged with developing and implementing partnership and event marketing strategies at XM Satellite Radio for MLB, Starbucks, Jet Blue, NASCAR, IRL, Andretti-Green Racing, International Speedway Corp., Indianapolis Motor Speedway, PGA TOUR, SEC, Big-12, Big Ten, ACC, Pac-10, Big East, and the Washington Redskins.
From 1998-2004, George worked for Visa USA and was responsible for developing marketing strategies, managing integrated marketing programs and leveraging Visa’s relationships with a variety of sports and entertainment properties including the Olympics, NASCAR, NFL, Broadway and the Visa Triple Crown.
Before Visa, George was a Marketing Director with Starter Corporation, a leading manufacturer of licensed sports apparel. There he was responsible for marketing, advertising and promotional strategy for Starter products in every major sports league (NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA and NCAA).
Prior to Starter, George was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. As a Surface Warfare Officer for six years, George held a number of management positions, including a two-year tour as an exchange officer aboard a French Navy ship.
George is a 1988 graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He also earned an MBA in 1996 from the Wharton School of Business and a Masters degree in International Studies from the Lauder Institute of Management at the University of Pennsylvania. Fluent in French, George completed a three-month internship at Martell, Cognac in Cognac, France, while attending business school.
