Registration Process
Current Georgetown Students
Quick Steps for Registering:- Pre-register for Summer School courses beginning on February 1, 2012, through MyAccess.
- After you submit the courses for which you wish to register, your Dean will review the selection of courses on the web.
- Once your Dean approves your selection of courses, you will be automatically enrolled in the courses you have selected.
- You may add/drop summer courses using MyAccess through Wednesday, June 6, 2012, for all sessions and through Wednesday, July 11, 2012, for the Second Session only.

Once you have successfully registered, you may view your schedule, view your bill, and make payments via MyAccess.
Accepted Visiting Students
Quick Steps for Registering:Once you receive the letter of acceptance with your NetID and password, please follow these steps to register for classes:
- Register online using MyAccess.
- Under the Student Services tab, select “Registration.”
- Click “Select Term.”
- Using the dropdown box, select “Summer 2012” and hit “Submit.”
- Enter the course reference number (CRN) into one of the boxes and hit Submit. Note: The CRN is the five-digit number next to the course title on the schedule of classes. You may enter multiple CRNs at once or you may enter them one at a time.
- If there is space available in the class or classes you have submitted, you will be registered. If there is no more space available or if there is any kind of restriction on the class that would prevent you from registering, you will receive an error message and will not be registered.
- If you do not know what class or classes you want to take, you may search from here by selecting “Search Classes.” This brings you to the online schedule of classes for review. Note: You will need to return to the registration page and enter the CRN to register for a class.
Once you have successfully registered, you may view your schedule, view your bill, and make payments via MyAccess.
Consortium Students
Quick Steps for Registering:

Browse our course catalog and select the course(s) you’re interested in taking. Be sure to write down the course names and numbers, which you will need to list on your registration forms.

See your advisor at your home institution to obtain approval of course selection.

Obtain the necessary consortium registration forms from your home institution’s Consortium Coordinator, located within your home institution’s Registrar’s Office.

Complete all necessary consortium paperwork and return to your Consortium Coordinator with all necessary information, including the Georgetown Summer School course names and numbers you recorded above and any necessary signatures.

Once all Georgetown degree and non-degree seeking students have had the opportunity to register for classes in a given session, consortium registration requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that registrations may be processed as late as five calendar days before the start of a given session. If your requested course is closed, you will receive a message from your Consortium Coordinator saying that your registration has been rejected.

If you would like to change your registration, you must contact your Consortium Coordinator directly.
Additional Registration Information for Georgetown Students:
- All graduate students taking 100- and 200-level courses for graduate credit must secure approval from the Graduate School and their academic department on an Add/Drop Form submitted to the University Registrar. Graduate credit cannot be granted unless this procedure is completed.
- Georgetown undergraduates who wish to take a graduate course must request the approval of their Dean.
- Entering students who have been accepted by the Graduate School, and who intend to begin a course of study with the Summer School, should contact the Graduate Admissions Office for approval of their courses.
- Georgetown graduate students who wish to register for either Thesis Research (DEPT-999-61) or Continuous Registration (DEPT-991-61) must register directly through the Graduate School Office.
Additional Registration Information for Visiting Students
Undergraduates enrolled at other institutions should, for their own benefit, obtain approval from their Dean to ensure that courses taken at Georgetown will fit into their program and that the credits will be transferable.
Late Registration
- Students may register for courses up until the first day of class in each session.
- A Late Registration fee will be assessed to anyone who initiates registration on or after the first day of class in a given session.
- Students registering after the tuition payment deadlines may be subject to additional fees.
