Andrew Volmert is a political theorist whose work centers on the role of political tradition in public discourse. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from Yale University in 2008, and most recently served as Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Political Theory Project at Brown University.

 His work has been published in top political science journals, including Political Studies, The Good Society, and Nationalism and Ethnic Politics. His research interests include political culture, democratic deliberation, theories of public opinion formation, and the relationship between democracy and nationalism. He is currently conducting research on the polarization of American political culture.
