The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies Program congratulates the five newest members of the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society
On Tuesday, April 28, 2009, the Liberal Studies program held an induction ceremony to welcome four students and one faculty member into the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society for Undergraduate Students in Continuing Education.
The Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society was established in 1945 to promote the advancement of scholarship and to recognize the academic achievements of nontraditional students. Eligibility requirements include ranking among the top 10 percent of the class and maintaining at least a 3.2 GPA—impressive accomplishments for students who balance the competing interests of home, school, and work. The society’s motto, “First in Scholarship and Leadership,” is truly reflected in these five new members:
• Larry Creech • Alexander Gee • Lillie Snyder • Seon Wilburg • Stefan Zimmers, PhD, Honorary Member
“Induction into Alpha Sigma Lambda is an unexpected yet very exciting honor,” says Larry Creech. He adds, “The credit for this must be shared with the outstanding Georgetown University professors who shared their knowledge and, by the example they set, inspired me to do the best work possible.”
Congratulations to all the inductees! |
