Michael Dalton
Ph.D., JD, CPA, CLU, ChFC, CFP®
Mike is an Associate professor of Accounting and Taxation at Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Georgia State University, a J.D. from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and an MBA and BBA in Management and Accounting from Georgia State University. He is a Former board member of the CFP Board’s Board of Examiners, Board of Standards, and Board of Governors. Mike is a former member (and chair) of the CFP Board’s Board of Examiners. Mike is a former member of the LSU Law School Board of Trustees (2000 – 2007).
Mike is the Former Chair of the Board of Dalton Publications, L.L.C. and Former Senior Vice President, Education at BISYS Group. He is the Author of Dalton Review for the CFP® Certification Examination: Volume I – Outlines and Study Guides, Volume II – Problems and Solutions, Volume III - Case Exam Book, Mock Exams A-1 and A-2 (1st - 8th), Estate Planning for Financial Planners (1st – 5th) and Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits for Financial Planners (1st – 5th). He is also the co-author of Dalton CFA® Study Notes Volumes I and II (1st - 2nd), Dalton’s Personal Financial Planning Series – Personal Financial Planning Theory and Practice (1st - 3rd), Dalton’s Personal Financial Planning Series – Personal Financial Planning Cases and Applications (1st - 4th), Cost Accounting: Traditions and Innovations published by West Publishing Company and ABCs of Managing Your Money published by National Endowment for Financial Education.
