Thomas is an associate professor of Business Law and Director of the Sovereign Bank Center for Business Support at the Gabelli School of Business, Roger Williams University, Bristol, RI.  Formerly, he was a Professor of Taxation at The American College, Bryn Mawr, PA. Thomas is a former member (and Chair) of the CFP Board’s Board of Examiners.  He holds an LL.M. (Master of Laws) in taxation from Villanova University School of Law, a J.D. from Western New England College School of Law, and an MBA from The University of Connecticut. 

Thomas has an active tax practice in Connecticut, and consults on estate planning cases throughout the country.  His current research interests include: intergenerational tax planning, international taxation, and estate planning.  He is an associate editor of The Journal of Financial Services Professionals, and co-Author of Income Tax Planning for Financial Planners (1st – 2nd) and Estate Planning for Financial Planners (1st – 5th).
