Jeff Stempien is the President of the Colonial Group, Ltd, a full service management consultancy specializing in providing solutions to the challenges of project management, organization development and continuous improvement.
He is a business professional and consultant with 30 years of experience in transportation, logistics, and supply chain management. He has held senior and executive positions with leading transportation service providers and was most recently the Director of European Logistics for a leading chemical company based in Lausanne, Switzerland. His practical experience includes direct management of large international integrated transportation services, coordination of global supply chain networks, and new business development. One of his last assignments was to lead a project team in the complete analysis of the transportation infrastructure of the Republic of Russia for the US Department of State.
As a consultant he has provided services to domestic trucking companies, railroads, courier companies, research groups, and most recently to one of the nation's largest wireless telecommunication companies. Over the last 8 years he has conducted over 100 management training courses for organization which include: Lockheed Martin Aerospace, Lucent Technology, The Weather Channel, BAE Systems, Constellation Energy, and George Washington University. He has also trained over 1000 Federal Government and Military personnel for agencies such as: DOD, FBI, DOE, NSA, NOAA, Navy, Air Force, Army, FAA, EPA, DOJ, DOS, GSA, and the Pentagon Joint Staff. His training includes essential and advanced courses in Project Management, Risk, Quality, Communications, Procurement, Performance Measurement, Requirements Management, Strategic Planning, Change Management, and Organizational Improvement.
Jeff holds a BS from Roosevelt University and has completed Master's work in Logistics at University of Wisconsin and Cranfield University in England. He has published a number of articles on supply chain management and has been a workshop and conference speaker at events in the US, France, Germany, Belgium, and Italy. He is a member of Project Management Institute, past VP of Marketing for the PMI Central Virginia Chapter, a member of the PMI Organizational Project Management Maturity Model development team, a Member of the PMI Performance Measurement College, and a member of the American Society of Training and Development.
