Non-Degree Program
The Visiting, Non-Degree Program was established so that qualified individuals with a completed undergraduate degree from an accredited institution (and, typically, with a cumulative GPA of 3.00, solid "B," or higher) might enroll in 1-2 graduate-level classes during the fall or spring semesters for their own benefit or, in some cases, to complete a prerequisite for graduate-level programs to which they are applying. Some departments allow visiting, non-degree applicants to request enrollment on a space-available basis, while others do not allow any visiting, non-degree applicants to enroll in their courses. Please note: Permission to enroll in this status is granted on a semester-by-semester basis for fall and spring only. Enrollment does not confer or imply admission to any graduate program at Georgetown University, regardless of the grade(s) earned while taking classes in this status. Students can earn a maximum of 9 credit hours total while in this status.
Students currently enrolled in colleges or universities within the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area (such as American, George Mason, and George Washington Universities, among others) should follow the procedures described on the Registrar's Office website to seek permission to enroll in courses.
Please review the Academic and Administrative Policies concerning visiting, non-degree students for additional guidance and information.
