Consortium of Chief Diversity Officers: Creating New Knowledge in Diversity and Inclusion
Nike. Marriott. Bank of America. Home Depot. You could be reading a list of Fortune 500 companies, but you would also be identifying companies whose diversity officers are represented on Georgetown
University’s Consortium of Chief Diversity Officers, housed in the School of Continuing Studies. In addition to defining and funding research, the Consortium serves as a forum for chief diversity officers
and a promoter for professionalization of the diversity and inclusion field. The first gathering of its kind in the nation, it stands alone in America as a conjoining catalyst, linking academicians and corporate executives at the highest levels together to work to develop new knowledge regarding human resources management through idea exploration, research, and strategic analysis. Members also serve as mentors and guides and are engaged partners in graduate education at the university. Other companies whose diversity officers are members include Abercrombie & Fitch, MGM Mirage, Major League Baseball, Monster.com, Johnson Controls, DLA Piper, Trinity Health, and The Walt Disney Company.
