Business and Professional English
Program Description:
The Certificate in Business and Professional English is a full-time certificate program designed for international students who are non-native speakers of English. Taught by experienced faculty from the Center for Language Education and Development, the Center for Continuing and Professional Education, and the McDonough School of Business, participants in the program study the fundamentals of contemporary business theory and practice and develop an advanced level of English for professional purposes.
Program Structure:
In addition to rigorous English language and communications courses, participants must complete five courses in business administration. Participants take Principles of Management and Principles of Marketing in the fall semester and Business Accounting, Business Financial Management, and Business Policy in the spring semester. - Business Policy - Spring Semester (BPE students must register for the January section of Business Policy)
Upon successful completion of the requisite language, communication, and business courses, participants receive a Certificate in Business and Professional English from Georgetown University.
Program Prerequisites:
A bachelor's degree and minimum TOEFL score of 70 IBT/195 CBT/525 PBT are required for admission to this program.
