Program Description:
The Certificate in Marketing program is designed to give professionals advanced knowledge of contemporary marketing theory and practice. Developed in collaboration with the American Marketing Association - D.C. and taught by experienced practitioners, the certificate addresses real-life issues in today’s rapidly changing and highly competitive business environment. The three core courses emphasize planning, research, and integration of marketing efforts while the electives offer insight into a range of specialized topics which have particular relevance and application to the Washington, D.C. Metro region.
To earn the Certificate in Marketing, students must complete the three core courses and any three electives. For those with no marketing background, the course Principles of Marketing is strongly recommended (but not required) for the Certificate in Marketing program.
Designed For:
The Certificate in Marketing is ideal for those in entry or mid-level marketing positions who are seeking deeper understanding of the subject. Individual courses, and especially the electives, will benefit those in more senior positions seeking to reinforce their expertise in specific areas. In addition, the Certificate in Marketing can assist professionals in becoming a Professional Certified Marketer (TM), an American Marketing Association program. Students may also be interested in pursuing the Professional Researcher Certification ™ offered by the Marketing Research Association.
Certificate Requirements:
Successful completion of the three required courses and any three electives within a two-year period is required to receive the Certificate in Marketing from Georgetown University.
Registration:
This certificate is an open enrollment program. You may register for individual courses by clicking on the course links below. No application is required. See below for program prerequisites.
Tuition Fees:
Each course is $850.00 with the exception of International Marketing Management. The total cost of the certificate program is $5,100.00 but you pay as you register for each course. Members of the American Marketing Association are eligible for a 10% discount on each course.
Email your AMA membership number to us at ccpemarketing@georgetown.edu for verification and you will receive the AMA discount code in reply. When you register for courses online, you will input the code during the check-out process to credit the discount. Discounts are only applicable at the time of purchase, they will not be retroactively refunded.
Prerequisites:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and the TOEFL examination for non native speakers of English. Additionally, students should have a basic understanding of marketing concepts through academic coursework or professional experience. If Marketing is new to you, please register for the Principles of Marketing course first; this will provide you with the baseline knowledge needed to participate fully in each subsequent course.
