Program Description:
Organizations are rapidly changing and the ability to stay abreast of local, national and global changes is increasingly more difficult, and as a result, organizations are increasingly engaging consulting expertise on how to create, manage, and sustain positive change. Consulting to organizations undergoing change is a rapidly expanding field now representing a $345 billion dollar industry.

In order to lead change or consult to organizations seeking change, you need to know who you are as a leader and how you impact the client, group or system in order to be effective. The program will provide you with an experiential learning laboratory environment that will allow you to understand your leadership, style and impact, thus increasing your value to the organization.
Program Objectives:
- Supporting and collaborating with organizations to manage and sustain effective change efforts that leverage and engage the organizations’ human capital resources;
- Working with organizations to foster more functional workplace dynamics and enable higher levels of productivity and effectiveness organization wide; and
- Helping organizations meet their business objectives.
Designed For:
- Business leaders, including government and non-profit professionals, who would like to take their organization to the next level;
- Organizational leaders responsible for internal change initiatives;
- Coaches and consultants, looking to hone existing or build new skills to offer clients additional resources;
- Human resources, performance management professionals, facilitators and trainers interested in gaining a larger organizational perspective and expanding their skills;
- Individuals or business professionals who are transitioning to new roles and are interested in organizational consulting and change leadership.
Format:
The Executive Certificate in Organizational Consulting and Change Leadership program:
- Meets once a month for seven months from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM on three consecutive days, Thursday through Saturday (with the exception of the first session, which meets four consecutive days, Wednesday through Saturday)., Sessions are approximately one month apart. (172 hours of instruction, 22 days of in-person instruction)
- Uses a cohort format. Sessions cannot be taken independently of the certificate program. Participants are required to complete all sessions to earn the certificate.
- Is experiential in nature and as a result, requires each participant to engage in extensive self-reflection and self-examination in order to develop as an effective instrument of change. The program can be transformational in nature.
Participants Can Expect To:
- Engage in practical application of theoretical knowledge in an experiential learning laboratory setting. (All reading assignments should be completed prior to the start of each session. Sessions will not involve reviews of or extensive lectures on the reading material).
- Complete short written assignments after each session and a final written paper of 20-25 pages in length.
- Complete a client consultation with an actual client organization provided by the program.
- Receive real-time feedback, coaching and advising from session faculty, who are practitioners in the field.
- Estimate the level of effort outside the classroom at 10 - 20 hours per week throughout the seven (7) month program.

Tuition:
Tuition for this program is $6,995.00. A payment plan, to break the total tuition fee into three parts, is available.
Admission and Registration:
The Organizational Consulting and Change Leadership certificate program has a competitive admissions process. For each cohort, a faculty selection committee chooses a collection of students who represent a variety of backgrounds, occupations and goals for the program in order to enrich the classroom experience. In order to insure that there is a baseline of knowledge and experience in the cohort, the following pre-requisites have been established by the faculty:

Openness to feedback, a large capacity for self-examination and challenging one's own beliefs are pre-requisites for acceptance into the program

A bachelors degree

At least five years of education, training and/or professional experience in coaching, human resources, leadership, organization development or a related field.

Admission:
The faculty selection committee will review completed applications on a rolling basis. Admissions decisions will be made and communicated to the applicant within a six-week time frame following the submission of the complete application. Only complete applications will be reviewed. Please follow up with your recommenders to ensure that letters of recommendations have been sent. As this is a cohort program, each applicant will be evaluated as an individual and as part of a well-balanced group of students. Due to the complex nature of the selection process, we are not able to provide individual feedback to applicants on their applications. Please insure that your e-mail provider is configured to accept e-mail from the @georgetown.edu domain. Admissions decisions will be communicated via e-mail.
International Students:
All courses within this Certificate program are taught in English. Students must be comfortable reading, writing, speaking and listening in English, the language of instruction.
Admission Deadline:
Two cohort programs occure each academic year beginning respectively in the Spring and Summer semesters. Admissions offers a rolling deadline with completed applications being reviewed approximately every two weeks.
