Description:
Project Management is one of the most sought after and respected skills today, especially in the Washington, D.C. Metro region. Beyond consulting and construction, project management skills are applicable to a growing range of industries including government contracting, information technology, healthcare, law, non-profit development, and public relations. Moreover, both private and public sector firms require certified project managers as projects grow in complexity and clients demand transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
Georgetown University is a Global Registered Education Provider with the Project Management Institute (PMI). The Center for Continuing and Professional Education offers a distinctive program in project management that allows managers to become more accomplished, qualified, and efficient in their fields. While this program is built on core project management processes found in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), it also addresses the people skills and real-world practices required for successful project managers. Taught by a experienced practitioners and academics, participants gain an analytical framework, communication techniques, strategic planning skills, and managerial insight to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and within scope.
To earn the Certificate in Project Management, students must complete four required courses and two elective courses. Upon completion of the program, students receive a Certificate in Project Management from Georgetown University. Students also satisfy the 35-hour training requirement to take the Project Management ProfessionalĀ® Examination with PMI.

Prerequisites:
A bachelor's degree and TOEFL examination for non-native speakers of English.
Continuing Education Courses: Certified PMP project managers must accrue 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs) every three years to maintain the PMP credential. Several continuing education courses are offered to help certified PMP project managers gain PDUs; see below under "Courses". Please note that these courses do not count toward the Certificate in Project Management.
