Georgetown's Career Access Network (GCAN)

Launched to current students in Fall 2010, GCAN is the School of Continuing Studies' online career management system.  This exclusive site provides SCS students and alumni with access to industry contacts generated by faculty, staff and alumni in your academic program.  As a comprehensive resource, your GCAN account also offers resume and interview tools, professional development workshops, and links to other Georgetown career resources.

Current SCS students should contact your Academic Program Manager to gain access to this site.

 The Career Education Center

The Georgetown University Career Education Center teaches students and alumni how to identify career opportunities that suit their individual strengths and interests and equips them with resources for lifelong career management as confident, self-reliant professionals.

On the Hoya Career Connection, employers list jobs and internship opportunities. Students and alumni are invited to create a profile, upload a resume and apply for positions in a variety of career fields. Employers conduct interviews both on- and off-campus. To obtain access to this database, send your name, academic program, NetID, email address, and phone number to: recruitingstudent@georgetown.edu.

  • Walk-in Appointments

Sign up for a 15-minute same-day walk-in session. Offered Tuesdays through Fridays on a first-come, first-served basis, walk-in appointments enable you to ask quick questions, have your resume and cover letter reviewed, get job search advice or learn more about our services.

  • Employment Advising

If you have decided on a career field, you can customize your job or internship search in an employment advising appointment. Advisers can show you how to identify opportunities in your field of interest, tailor your search strategy and target your resume appropriately.

  • Mock Interviews and Expert Advice

You can practice interviewing on your own using Optimal Resume.
