Course Description

Students learn the fundamentals of the instructional design process, examine social impact concepts, and assess how to use a social impact framework to create online and hybrid courses for social impact. Learners will also be introduced to the online course project they will lead and build upon throughout the courses in the certificate and practice using Canvas and relevant technology tools.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • Explain backwards design
  • Summarize how to integrate social justice frames into learning design
  • Describe the fundamental processes in learning/instructional design
  • Develop an agenda, timeline, and project workflow to kick-off online course project
  • Communicating to Stakeholders Social Impact
