Dean Manuel Quoted in <i>The Washington Post</i> Article Discussing the Rise in Demand for Master’s Degrees

Robert L. Manuel, Ph.D., associate provost and dean, School of Continuing Studies was included in an article that ran in TheWashington Post on Sunday, February 19. The article, titled “The Education Issue: More students getting graduate degrees,” discusses the rise in demand for graduate degrees, reasons behind the increase as well as the potential risk involved when it comes to the cost of earning an advanced degree when weighed with employment outcomes.
Manuel and LaRhonda Lombardi, an alumna of the Master of Professional Studies in Sports Industry Management program, are included in a discussion about the importance of a master’s program’s ability to provide students with the opportunity to build their network through faculty who are industry professionals and apply what they learn in the classroom through internship opportunities.
