Lazaro Gamio is an information designer living in Washington, D.C. and currently works as the visuals editor at Axios.
He specializes in turning massive datasets into compelling stories using whichever tool is best for the job. His work ranges from charts and maps to full-featured interactive graphics. Before Axios, he worked at the Washington Post, where he created award-winning interactive graphics. He also worked as an assignment editor, leading a group of visual journalists through pitching, developing and perfecting data visualization projects for both print and web. Prior to the Post, he worked for his hometown paper, the Miami Herald, as a designer on projects big and small.
