He is a noted expert in building brands with holistic experiences and growing programs from ideation to execution. His latest endeavor is to reinvent the cruise experience as AVP of Design + Innovation for Royal Caribbean. Previously, he collaborated with senior industry executives to create, launch, and lead Georgetown University’s Master’s in Global Hospitality Leadership program, reshaping talent development for aspiring industry leaders. During his past tenure as an executive at Starwood Hotels, Shealy led the redevelopment and evolution of major branding and design strategies for the company’s most noted flags. There, he served as the Global Design Director for W Hotels, setting the standard for design leadership and establishing the brand’s reputation as a global powerhouse. He also led key components of Le Méridien Hotels + Resort’s worldwide re-launch as their Director of Design. As a spokesman for the hospitality industry, he is a frequent speaker at conferences and is a published author in various media outlets. Originally from the mountains of Western North Carolina, he is an avid traveler, having been to over 60 countries on 5 continents. Shealy graduated as valedictorian from Clemson University with a B.A. in Architecture and holds a Master of Architecture from Yale University.
