Robert Lannan is the principal of Lannan Legal PLLC, in Washington, D.C.
He represents owners and operators of hotels, restaurants, private clubs and other hospitality businesses in a variety of transactions, including sales, financings, joint ventures, management agreements, franchise agreements, service agreements and contracts with online travel agencies and other sales intermediaries. He also advises hospitality companies on compliance and regulatory matters.. Before beginning his private practice, Lannan was Vice President & Senior Counsel with Hilton Worldwide, where he led a group of attorneys responsible for advising the company on operation of its owned and managed hotels worldwide. He was also Vice President & Senior Counsel with Marriott International, where he represented the company on transactions in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and Africa. Lannan is a founding Co-Chair of the annual Hotel & Lodging Legal Summit at Georgetown University Law Center. He has served as the Chair of the American Bar Association Hotels, Resorts & Tourism Committee and has been elected to the Academy of Hospitality Industry Attorneys. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts (magna cum laude) and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University, and a Master of Laws with highest honors from The George Washington University
