Jamie Holloway is a Lecturer/Consultant of the Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development where she teaches in the Early Intervention Certificate program.
Dr. Jamie Holloway, PT, DPT, PCS is an accomplished physical therapist, earning the distinction of Pediatric Clinical Specialist from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) in 2011.
Dr. Holloway has co-authored book chapters on fine and gross motor development, musculoskeletal developmental disorders, and autism. She is actively involved in research and will complete a PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in the Fall 2017. Dr. Holloway’s primary research interest is in the relationship between motor skills and social skills in children with autism spectrum disorders. In addition, she is interested in personnel preparation and best practices in early intervention.
Dr. Holloway has over 10 years of experience working with children and their families as a pediatric physical therapist. The majority of her career has been spent working with children birth to three years old and their families through the early intervention programs in Florida and Tennessee. Her experiences in early intervention systems in multiple states brings a unique perspective to the courses she teaches at Georgetown. She has also presented at conferences in Florida, Tennessee, and Washington DC about best practices for infants and toddlers. Additionally, Dr. Holloway has provided physical therapy services in outpatient and inpatient settings.
Dr. Holloway holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Duke University and Bachelor of Science degrees in Exercise Science and Psychology from Florida State University. She participated as a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) trainee at the Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development. Dr. Holloway also acts as a volunteer coach with Girls on the Run Birmingham.
