Brian Schmanske

Dr. Schmanske currently works for the U.S. government, combining systems engineering and finance to build and execute programs in technical organizations.

Dr. Schmanske has over 25 years of experience serving in systems engineering, program management, research and development, and finance roles toward developing computer, communications, and satellite systems. Additionally, he has taught remote sensing, systems engineering, and finance at the graduate level, and has authored papers on medical image compression and image quality.

Dr. Schmanske has a D.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the George Washington University, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering, with Distinction, from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, with Honors, from the Pennsylvania State University. Additionally, he has an MBA in Finance and Strategy Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar.

Dr. Schmanske’s research interests include remote sensing, medical image processing, and information theory. Most recently, he has become interested in blending systems engineering with financial analysis toward making better technical and programmatic decisions.
