Georgetown University is currently able to accept applications for purely online programs from students who are residents of the following countries (regardless of citizenship status):
- Hong Kong
- South Korea
- United Kingdom
- select Canadian provinces (Ontario, Alberta, and Quebec)
Georgetown University is unable to offer the online format to students who are living in countries other than those listed above, unless they are U.S. citizens. Visa support is currently unavailable to students applying for online or hybrid format programs except the Executive Master of Professional Studies in Program & Portfolio Management (see below).
The Executive Master of Professional Studies in Emergency & Disaster Management and Executive Master of Professional Studies in Global Strategic Communications are ineligible for the student visa F-1/J-1. For this reason, Georgetown University is unable to offer these programs to non-U.S. citizens who reside outside of the U.S. Visa support is offered for the two in-person residencies that are required to complete the Executive Master of Professional Studies in Program & Portfolio Management program. International students interested in this program are encouraged to call Admissions Advisor Kristen Solberg at 202-687-5832 for additional information.
Online Master of Professional Studies Programs
Students living outside the U.S., including U.S. citizens, will not be able to complete an internship or field experience. This applies to the following online programs: Master of Professional Studies in Sports Industry Management and Master of Professional Studies in Emergency & Disaster Management. Students living outside the U.S. may apply for these programs, but they will not be able to select elective courses that involve an internship or field experience.
Please note: Degrees conferred by Georgetown University are recognized in the United States and may be recognized in other countries. Degrees and certificates conferred by Georgetown University are not officially recognized by Mexico. All international students are encouraged to research the policies pertaining to degree recognition in their home country prior to enrolling in a Georgetown program.
Please be aware that students who relocate while enrolled at Georgetown University may experience a delay in registration eligibility or potentially be unable to complete their studies if they are moving to a country or state where Georgetown is not currently authorized to offer an online option for a particular program. Prospective students should contact their admissions advisor to discuss how relocation could alter their eligibility, while current students should contact their Program Administrator if they are considering relocating during their course of study.
