How do you give back?
Georgetown has given me a lot, including life long friends, the ability to think critically, and the wisdom to approach the world through the lens of Jesuit values such as cura personalis and men and women for others. Since 2011, I have volunteered as an Alumni Admissions Program interviewer for the University, meeting with around a dozen high school senior and transfer students applying to be Hoyas every year, and have served on the Hindu Chaplaincy Alumni Advisory Board.

Who (or what) has inspired you and how has your life changed as a result?
I have always been inspired by the story of my grandparents on both sides of the family. In 1947, partition led India and Pakistan to become two separate states. My family fled Pakistan to Bombay, India as refugees, and my paternal grandfather settled into an army barracks converted into a refugee camp where my father spent the first 13 years of his life. Despite experiencing a sudden turn from great wealth to utter poverty, my family was able to rebuild and flourish. These stories teach me the value of education, which is one thing that can never be taken away from you, and the importance of putting problems into perspective.
