Describe an interesting trend you see emerging in your profession and how you think it will affect the field:
In the digital marketing space, it's becoming more and more important to deliver your message on an ever increasing number of platforms tailored to specific audiences. The shift from desktop to mobile is a much-publicized trend in the industry, but what seems to be too often overlooked is the sheer number and diversification of platforms. You're on Facebook for volume, SnapChat for Millennials, Search to capture newcomers, and so on. I'm excited to see in the next 10 years how this diversification continues and what channels live and die.
What has been your most unique learning experience and why?
My most unique learning experience has been working with my international colleagues at Oceana. In partnering with our international staff—from Belize to the Philippines to Belgium—I've learned the importance of difference in international perspectives. By listening and supporting international staff, we've partnered to create more effective campaigns that reach people where they are and speak to their interests.
