How do you think education in your field will change over the next 10 years?
I believe education in my field is changing by adapting to new technology. We went from traditional face-to-face education to dynamic systems that allow students from all over the world to participate.
Who (or what) has inspired you and how has your life changed as a result?
My life dramatically changed in undergrad when I met my mentor, Juan Sepulveda. At the time, Juan was the Executive Director for the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, and he offered me an internship shortly after graduating. Being from Compton, California, I never imagined going to Washington, D.C. or having the opportunity to be a part of such an influential office. This moment allowed me to see that others from difficult backgrounds can rise to any challenge and succeed in any environment. It was thanks to this opportunity that I have made a career here in D.C.
