Describe an interesting trend you see emerging in your profession and how you think it will affect the field:
The human resources field is forever evolving. Recently, the Harvard Business Review published an article about "Blowing HR up," which could not be more true right now. As the world becomes more globalized, HR professionals have to be more strategic. Leveraging globalization with more digitized learning and development allows us to build future HR and workforce leaders. This means that employee development has taken on a completely new form. Learning and development can happen at virtually anytime and in multiple formats. By strategically providing the right opportunities for employees, our workforce can now be more customer-focused than ever.
What do you like to do in your free time?
My mantra in life is to give back and connect people. I have so much to be thankful for, so I spend most of my free time volunteering. I deliver meals on the weekends through IONA Senior Services; I provide life skills training with Community Family Life Services to single mothers transitioning out of homelessness; I serve as a national volunteer with my sorority overseeing a committee working to increase alumni engagement; and, I am a mentor for undergraduates interested in careers in higher education. I draw energy from helping people become the best versions of themselves.
