What has been your most unique learning experience and why?
I’ve had some interesting on-the-job learning experiences, especially in the form of crisis communications, including serving as the lead media spokesperson for Maryland’s largest energy company during hurricanes, back-to-back snowstorms, rate increases, and a natural gas explosion. However, my most unique learning experience has been my time at Georgetown. I came into the program with eight years of traditional media relations and public relations experience. It’s exciting to interact with my peers – who have various levels of experience in a variety of industries – and to be inspired by the creativity they bring to each class.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I am passionate about giving back and making a positive impact on my community. I spend a large portion of my free time volunteering as a committee member for the United Way of Central Maryland’s Emerging Leaders United – a group of passionate, young professionals who are actively seeking ways to give, advocate, and volunteer to make positive and long-lasting changes throughout Central Maryland, focusing on education, income, and health.
