Specific Prerequisites

A prerequisite for entry into this program is a project management background. Students entering the program are strongly recommended to either have a CAPM or PMP certification or a non-credit certificate in Project Management. Students with no project management credentials, or significant direct project management experience, may be required to complete MPPM 520: Project Management Fundamentals, a course offered as part of the Project Management MPS program, or the CAPM or PMP before the end of their second semester of study.

Georgetown University is able to offer the executive master’s in Program & Portfolio Management program to residents of select states, but is still awaiting full approval from additional states. Please consult the Important Policies for Online Students page to determine if you are a resident of a state or country in which Georgetown University can offer this program. If your state or country is not listed at this time, please let us know and we will reach out to you when your state or country’s approval has been confirmed.
