What has been your most unique learning experience and why?

Transitioning from the military to the civilian world has taught me a lot. Completely switching gears for graduate school is intimidating, but knowing you are pursuing a long-term goal is rewarding. I have learned a lot about myself and my drive to set and achieve new goals by taking the risk of launching myself into a new career field.

What are the three most important skills for someone in your profession and why?

Communication, flexibility, and enthusiasm are all crucial to working events, and are all directly intertwined. The ability to converse with your customers is equally as important as communicating with coworkers. When plans inevitably go awry during an event, you must be able to adapt, communicate changes to the plan, and remain upbeat to successfully execute your event.

What is something people might not know about you?

I have flown solo in a Cessna aircraft.
