“In my six years of teaching in the SIM program, Tyson has separated himself as one of the top two to three students I have ever had. His attention to detail, his drive to succeed, and his hard work have set him apart from his peers. Tyson cared much more deeply about his work than anyone else and took it much more seriously. His project stood apart. His questions were always thought provoking. Tyson has a bright future in the sports industry and the SIM program was just a stepping stone for his many future successes.”
- Steve Goodman, SIM Faculty

“Tyson clearly stands out as one of the most professional and selfless students that I have had during my six years of teaching in the SIM program. I am proud to nominate him for this distinction.”
- Scott Lewis, SIM Faculty

What is an interesting trend emerging in your field?
I see teams and brands going beyond traditional and technological marketing communications in corporate sponsorships. The new norm will be a partnership where the sponsoring brand is providing the team or sports entity their expertise in the form of operational support for a more mutually beneficial relationship.

What has been your most unique learning experience?
My most unique learning experience was the SIM Brazil Global Sporting Immersion class in October of 2014. We ventured to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for a week to meet with executives from across the Brazilian sports landscape. It was unique because of how different they do things in sports in other countries, particularly Brazil, as they are under an incredible amount of scrutiny as hosts of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Olympics next summer. You must go into international opportunities, or work with international colleagues, with a very open mind.
